By The Magic Online Team

For two decades, the stories of the Four Nations and the Avatar to unite them have captivated audiences worldwide. Now those tales are told through the lens of one of the world’s largest games! Magic: The Gathering® | Avatar: The Last Airbender(set code TLA) debuts on Magic Online next Tuesday, November 18 at 10 a.m. Pacific time (18:00 UTC)

The downtime to add this set to MTGO will happen this Wednesday, November 12, from 9 a.m. to approximately 12 noon Pacific time (17:00-20:00 UTC). Be sure to follow our social media outlets (Discord, BlueSky and more) to keep real-time tabs on this release.

We have so many new in-game features to share with you for this release that we need two other articles!

Event Updates

Alternate Play Schedule

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up between now and the annual Holidays promotion in mid-December. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT (18:00 UTC) unless otherwise noted.

Magic Online Players Rewards (MOPR) Update

Here’s what is on deck for MOPR the rest of this year.

The grant on Monday, December 1 covers November activity. It will feature brand-new retro-frame promo versions of the five Tarkir common tri-lands in foil. We also be giving out non-foil versions of the TLE Jumpstart commons and uncommons that are new to Magic.

Then on Friday, January 2, we’ll reward December play with regular versions of cards of the non-reprints from the TLA Beginner Box, as well as a second round of the retro-frame Tarkir lands.

For more information on earning Player Rewards, click here.

Treasure Chest Update

Treasure Chests will update when TLA goes on sale next Tuesday – be sure to watch our Twitter/X (@MagicOnline) and our Discord channel to confirm this before opening Chests.

For full details on the changes to come, check out the information page when it updates later this week.

After next Tuesday, the next Treasure Chest update will occur on Wednesday, December 17.

Player Avatars

We have another new set of player avatars to show you!

New accounts created between next Tuesday and January 20 will receive the Momo, Rambunctious Rascal player avatar.

In addition to the Cabbage Merchant mentioned earlier for the TLA Draft Bundle, we will have two different Vintage Cube Bundles later this season featuring their own player avatars!

Then it’s time to bestow some Prestige! As usual, you get five points for each Competitive trophy you earn in Leagues and one for each Friendly trophy. At the end of the season (when Lorwyn Eclipsed releases), you'll earn every player avatar for which you qualify.

Earning at least five points gets you the uncommon Katara, Bending Prodigy player avatar.

Earning at least 20 points nabs you the rare Fire Lord Azula player avatar.

Earning 40 points or more rewards you with the mythic rare Avatar Aang player avatar.
