MTGO BROADCASTS
First Creator Showdown – Ramboa Crushes Pauper
Thousands of MTGO fans tuned into Twitch and YouTube for the inaugural Creator Showdown on Saturday! 48 simultaneously-streaming participants tried their best to solve a Pauper format shaken up by Modern Horizons 3 (but not by Cranial Ram) for cash and in-game prizes. Will Hall and Andreas Petersen anchored our Twitch channel’s coverage of the later rounds with expert commentary.
Our first Creator Showdown champion is El_Gran_Boa – Thierry Ramboa! Thierry emerged undefeated through a six-round gauntlet to earn a cool $1,250 USD. The finals were an all-French affair as Ramboa’s Grixis Affinity deck - the most popular of the weekend despite the pre-ban of Cranial Ram – defeated Yellowhat himself, Gabriel Nassif on Boros Aggro.
Four other players also finished in the money – Cherryxman, Shir Kahn, Nola_gold, and DarkestMage – congratulations to them.
You can find the final results and links to each decklist at topdeck.gg. Be sure to mark your calendar to tune in on Saturday, July 13 when the next Showdown features Modern!
The Magic Discovery Zone Season 3 – Thursdays at 5 p.m. PT
Looking for a fun way to introduce your friends to some of Magic Online’s competitive formats? Gather around your favorite screen of choice for our new series, The Magic Discovery Zone!
Host NileJoanRivers gets coached by an MTG celebrity on the ins and outs of a featured deck in each episode. Then Nile dives into a MTGO League to practice, ask questions, and get a better understanding of the deck’s game plan. The mood here is all about fun and learning!
Season Three will highlight the Modern format. Another episode airs this Thursday night at 5 p.m. PT (midnight Friday UTC) at twitch.tv/magiconline as Nile delves deeper with Modern Horizons 3.
Just now finding Discovery Zone? Both seasons’ VODs are now available on our YouTube channel!
