CONGRATS MOCS SHOWCASE QUALIFIED PLAYERS

We'd like to recognize the eight players who have qualified for the next MOCS Showcase event on Saturday, October 8. This group will battle for their share of the $70,000 prize pool and two seats at the 2023 World Championship!

PIONEER SUPER QUALIFIER SATURDAY

On Saturday, August 27, there will be a Pioneer Super Qualifier with a start time of 7 a.m. PT (14:00 UTC). The entry fee is 40 MOCS Qualifier Points, 40 Event Tickets, or 400 Play Points. The top four finishers qualify for the tabletop Regional Championship Season 1.

MODERN QUALIFIER SUNDAY

On Sunday, August 28, there will be a Modern Qualifier with a special start time of 1 a.m. PT (08:00 UTC). The event costs 40 Season 2 QPs, and the top two finishers will earn an invitation to the tabeltop Regional Championship Season 1.

AUGUST SPECIAL EVENTS: DOUBLE MASTERS 2022 DUELS

We have heard plenty of feedback from players regarding adding Limited to the menu of weekly Format Challenge choices.

As an experiment, we are trying out a new event type on weekends this month that has a set number of rounds (like Preliminaries) but has greater prizes (like Challenges). For now, we are working these in around the existing schedule.

Double Masters 2022 Duels

Time: Through August 28, Saturdays and Sundays at 1 a.m. PT (8:00 UTC) and noon PT (19:00 UTC)

• Replaces Limited Prelims in the following time slots: 1 a.m. PT Saturday, noon PT Saturday, and noon PT Sunday
• New slot at 1 a.m. PT Sunday
  • Reminder – Saturday 1 a.m. there is no Duel due to the Modern Qualifier.

Entry: 45 Event Tickets or 450 Play Points
Format: Double Masters 2022 Sealed Deck
Min-Max Players: 65–256
Rounds: 7 (no Playoff)

VINTAGE CUBE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1

Vintage Cube is back and runs until Dominaria United events begin on September 1! There are no changes from June, and both the regular league and single-elimination queue will be offered. Check out the full list of cards.

DOUBLE MASTERS 2022 ON MTGO

Our newest set, Double Masters 2022, is now live in the game. Sealed, Draft, and Phantom Draft Leagues are available. Check out the release article to learn all about events, avatars (both for Streets of New Capenna and Double Masters 2022), and how Cryptic Spires will work in the game.

MAGIC ONLINE FORMAT CHALLENGES EVERY WEEKEND

Format Challenges are the first step toward qualifying for Premier Play through your favorite Magic formats and provide excellent prizes for those looking to test their mettle in their favorite formats.

Magic Online's Format Challenges run once on Saturdays and once on Sundays for each Constructed format! On weekends featuring Showcase Challenge events, the Format Challenge that starts at either 6 a.m., 8 a.m., or 10 a.m. Pacific time is pre-empted by the Showcase Challenge—Format Challenges scheduled at other times remain in place.

NOTES:

• Pauper and Vintage Challenges are never pre-empted.
• Saturday Legacy Challenges require 32 players and give prizes to Top 32.
• Sunday Legacy Challenges require 64 players and give prizes to Top 64.

The next scheduled downtime is planned for August 31, beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until noon. All times listed are Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7). This is for the release of Dominaria United.
