Our Cube curation team of Ryan Spain and Chris Wolf has put together another puzzle for Cube lovers to solve through the holidays and into January – it's the return of the main-line Vintage Cube for the holidays! With Fallout®, Duskmourn, and Foundations arriving since the last iteration, the Cube’s as shaken as a snow globe – 70 card swaps in all!

Test-Drive Vintage Cube in the Free Preview League Today!

For the first time, we’re giving everyone a chance to practice the updated Vintage Cube for free ahead of its League startup tomorrow! Check out the Holidays article for full details, including the special code to redeem for two free entries into the Preview League. You only have until 5 a.m. PT (13:00 UTC) tomorrow, so get that practice in today.

64-Player Elimination Drafts Every Two Hours Starting Friday

We’ve looked back at our historical data on 64s over the past year-plus and found the sweet spot for participation and availability. So starting this Friday, December 20^th, 64-Player Elimination Drafts will run every two hours between 4:30 a.m. PT (12:30 UTC) and 8:30 p.m. PT (4:30 UTC next day) - that’s nine events per day!

We’ll keep that cadence up until we’re back in the office on January 2^nd, then course-correct if needed at that time.

MTGO CREATOR SEASON

We’re reaching the conclusion of the first Magic Online’s Creator Season – you can read all about it in this article. Thank you to all the participating Creator Program members for their support and fun event ideas!

  • It’s Vintage’s turn to run as a mini-League for exclusive Trophy Race avatars! The League begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. PT (18:00 UTC) and runs until Friday at 10 a.m. PT. Accounts finishing in the Top 15 and ties on the Leaderboard will snag the exclusive Opposition Agent avatar.
• MTGNerdGirl Commander Community Meetup
  • MTGNerdGirl will be hosting another Commander Community Meetup this Friday! Watch the stream from 12-7 p.m. PT for giveaways or join the Decked Out Discord to find games with other Commander fans!

PREMIER PLAY

Holiday RCQ Extravaganza Begins Friday

Our tradition of competitive play at the end of the calendar year is strong, and this year is no exception. Between Friday, December 20 and Monday, December 30, there are an astounding 26 RC invitations up for grabs across eight different events – five Super Qualifiers and three Qualifiers!

These tournaments feed the April-May round of tabletop Regional Championships that lead to the Pro Tour in September at MagicCon: Atlanta.

As a reminder, Qualifiers can only be entered using 40 Season 1 Qualifier Points. Super Qualifiers allow QP entry, or the more open options of either 40 Event Tickets or 400 Play Points.

You can also enter one of those four Constructed Super Qualifiers by buying two Mythic Event Tokens and spending both as an alternative entry option. It’s a savings of $15 compared to buying one Mythic Token and 40 Event Tickets. Don’t worry, you’ll still have the access until January 2 even if the Token is no longer on your account in this case.

Foundations Returns to Scheduled Events Tomorrow

Now that the MOCS Opens have concluded, we are returning to our regularly scheduled programming for Limited Preliminaries and Challenges starting tomorrow. Foundations will be the Sealed product used for these events to support upcoming Qualifier and Super Qualifier tournaments.

ALTERNATE PLAY

Magic Online Judges Open – Holiday Edition

We’re once again supporting the tabletop Judge community with a free-play event over the holidays! The MOJO returns this Friday, December 27 and runs until Thursday, January 2. The star of this 4-round League is Modern Horizons 3 Phantom Sealed with prizes of 1 MH3 pack per match win.

If you are eligible to participate, contact your Regional Judge Organization. But hurry, signup lists will be submitted this Thursday, December 19.

WEEKLY UPDATES

Magic Online Player Rewards Change

In the Foundations set article, we had announced that Mystery Booster 2 commons and uncommons would comprise the next MOPR grant on January 2. We have had to push back the release of those cards by a month, so they’ll be included in the February 1 grant.

Instead, we are throwing almost all non-land cards that have been in MOPR this year (over 250 unique cards) into the mix and doling them out like a big grab bag.

Redemption Corner

We’ve updated our Redemption page with new quantity percentages.

Bloomburrow redemption sets (both regular and foil-for-regular) are getting low. As a reminder, we announced changes to the Redemption Program starting with Bloomburrow – read all about it in this article.

Duskmourn: House of Horror redemption tokens are also now available in the Store. A limited number of Outlaws of Thunder Junction sets still remain available.

Please note: Shipment of redemption sets may be delayed up to a week due to our company’s holiday break next week – thank you for your patience.

Finally, Magic: The Gathering Foundations is not a redeemable set – redemptions will resume with Aetherdrift.
