MTGO PREMIER PLAY SEASONS
The MTGO Premier Play Program splits the year into seasons of roughly seventeen weeks each. During each season, you'll earn Qualifier Points which can be used to join Qualifiers, Super Qualifiers, and Champions Showcase events. At the end of the season, we'll reset the Qualifier Points in players' accounts (right after the final Last Chance event fires) and then start the next season.

Check out the MOCS Leaderboard page for full details.
THE MAGIC ONLINE CHAMPIONS SHOWCASE
Players looking to prove their mettle against the best players in Magic Online will want to use their QPs to enter Magic Online Champions Showcase (MOCS) events. MOCS is a set of linked tournaments designed to highlight the game's best players each season, culminating in the Champions Showcase and its large cash prize pool and two invitations to the World Championship.
NOTE: Once a player wins an invitation to a Season's Showcase, that player is prohibited from competing in further MOCS events feeding that Showcase.

(This Page) DESTINATION – Champions Showcase Event
Champions Showcase Event
The signature event of each Season is the Magic Online Champions Showcase. This 8-player online event pits the top competitors of the season against each other for their share of a large cash prize pool and the title of Showcase Champion. In addition, the top two finishers earn a seat at the World Championship!
The competitors include:
- The winner of each of the four Showcase Qualifiers
- The winner of each of the two Showcase Opens
- The two Leaderboard invitees
The date of the Showcase and the formats it will use will be announced at least one month before the event.
SEASON | SHOWCASE DATE | FORMATS |
PRIZE POOL (USD) |
INVITES |
---|---|---|---|---|
2024 Season 3 | January TBD | Vintage Cube and TBD | $50,000 | 2025 World Championship |
2025 Season 1 | May TBD | TBD | $50,000 | 2025 World Championship |
2025 Season 2 | October TBD | TBD | $50,000 | 2026 World Championship |
NOTE: Because Champions Showcase events are held online, players who have earned an invitation must be able to connect to the internet for the duration of the event, demonstrate their connectivity prior to the event, and verify they can stream matches for the coverage team. Players who cannot commit to or demonstrate these requirements may be disqualified and have their invitation transferred to another competitor.
Prizes for Showcases are variable based on number of wins in each pod
Pod | Participation | 1st Win | 2nd Win | 3rd Win | Championship Round |
Limited | $500 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $4,000 + World Championship Invite | $4,000 |
Constructed | $500 | $1,000 | $2,000 | $4,000 + World Championship Invite |
Prizes are cumulative - for example, a pod winner earns $7,500 for that pod.
Should one player win both pods, that player earns the Championship Round award without needing to play the match. The second World Championship invitation would then be awarded via pre-announced tiebreak procedures (usually via a playoff match).

GENERAL EVENT RULES
Scheduling and Structure
Daybreak reserves the right to add, remove, modify, reschedule, and/or delete any tournament for any reason, including without limitation, if in its sole judgment, that tournament's integrity has been compromised by an unforeseen technical issue and/or error in that tournament's administration.
Note that before, during, or after a season, Daybreak reserves the right to adjust, change, or remove the method or rate at which QPs are distributed. Any changes will be announced at least one week prior to the change on MTGO.com.
Entry and Invitations
For all events that require Qualifier Points or an invitation to enter: if a player believes they should be able to enter the event and cannot, it is their responsibility to contact Customer Support before the event begins (see the Connectivity and Other Event Problems section below). Once the event begins, players cannot be added to the event.
Players who earn a Regional Championship invitation, Pro Tour invitation, or Magic Online Champions Showcase invitation from a Magic Online event will be contacted via the email account associated with their Magic Online account by a Daybreak representative within 72 hours of the qualifying event to verify account information and coordinate the invitation. If you plan on playing in the MTGO Premier Play Program, please ensure that your account information is correct.
Players who are already invited to a Regional Championship fed by a Qualifier or Super Qualifier are eligible to compete in further events feeding that Championship. If a player would earn a redundant invitation to a Regional Championship, Pro Tour, or World Championship via a Magic Online event, that invitation may pass down as indicated in the Prizes section below.
For all Seasons, players who have already earned a Magic Online Champions Showcase Invitation are not eligible to participate in further qualification events for that Magic Online Premier Play Season's Champions Showcase.
Connectivity and Other Event Problems
Players who experience issues during a Premier Play event should contact Customer Service as quickly as possible. Customer Service can be contacted online via the Submit a Request form. Some events include coverage by Digital Event Coordinators (DECs) who can be contacted by joining the #DEC chat channel inside the game client.
Daybreak is not responsible for the results of any disconnection or network problems experienced by players. Please refer to these guidelines for more information on stability and connection issues in MTGO Premier Play.
LEGAL INFORMATION
Magic Online Premier Play Eligibility
For these eligibility rules, Magic Online Premier Play is defined as any Magic Online tournament or event whose prize structure includes one or more invitations to a Magic Online Champions Showcase event, tabletop Regional Championship, tabletop Pro Tour, or World Championship event, or another tournament or event that is deemed to be part of the Magic Online Premier Play system.
All Magic Online players who meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein are eligible to compete in Magic Online Premier Play except (a) players who are otherwise ineligible to engage in tournament play pursuant to the Magic Online User Agreement and (b) employees and their immediate family members, or contractors of Daybreak Game Company LLC (“Daybreak”), Wizards of the Coast LLC ("Wizards"), Hasbro, Inc. ("Hasbro"), or each of their respective subsidiaries or affiliates or their advertising or promotion agencies, or those who have been disqualified for other reasons (see below). This is a skill-based tournament based on a player's ability to defeat other players.
Players must be Magic Online account holders in good standing and in compliance with the Magic Online User Agreement in order to participate in Magic Online Premier Play. Players may be disqualified from Premier Play (including the Magic Online Champions Showcase and/or Regional Championship events) if they are suspended from Magic Online for any reason, including without limitation, a violation of the Magic Online User Agreement.
To be eligible to participate in Magic Online Premier Play, the following requirements must be met:
- Players must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for the Magic Online Champions Showcase, Magic: The Gathering Championships, or other related Premier Play. If a player under the age of 18 would earn prizes that include an invitation for one of these events, the invitation will pass down to the next eligible player as described in the Prizes section below.
- Players must have internet access.
- Players must have access to a personal computer.
- Players acknowledge and agree that Daybreak will share player information with Wizards of the Coast LLC for players who earn invitations to in-person events or earn cash prizes.
- Prizes are not available to residents of the following countries: China, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russian Federation, Sudan, South Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, and Venezuela.
- Players cannot win Regional Championship invitational prizes unless they reside in a country listed in Wizards of the Coast’s Premier Event Invitation Policy.
- Prizes are not available to any person who has been suspended or banned, or is otherwise ineligible to play, in any sanctioned Wizards of the Coast tabletop tournaments
Invitations to the Championship (including those awarded by participation in tournaments) are governed by the Magic: The Gathering Premier Event Invitation Policy except as stated in the Prize section below.
For all Seasons, players who have already earned a Magic Online Champions Showcase Invitation are not eligible to participate in further qualification events for that Magic Online Premier Play Season's Champions Showcase.
Because the Magic Online Champions Showcase event is held online, players who have earned an invitation must be able to connect to the internet for the duration of the event, demonstrate their connectivity prior to the event, and verify they can stream matches for the coverage team. Players who cannot commit to or demonstrate these requirements may be disqualified and have their invitation passed down to another competitor as indicated in the Prizes section below.
Players who compete in Qualifiers or Magic Online Premier Play events in violation of these rules will be subject to appropriate penalties, up to and including suspension.
Although players may have multiple accounts qualified for a Magic Online Champions Showcase event, players are not permitted to have more than one of their accounts entered in any single Scheduled Event at one time. Players are not permitted to have any accounts entered in events played by other players for any reason. If a player is discovered to have more than one account playing in a Magic Online Champions Showcase event or Qualifier/Super Qualifier event before, during, or after the event, Daybreak may take action against that player's account(s), up to and including disqualification with no refund of product and/or event tickets, suspension of the offending account(s), and/or termination of the offending account(s). Using an account other than your own, allowing any other player to use your account, selling your account, and other similar actions are all violations of the Magic Online User Agreement. If you play in Magic Online tournaments, win, and expect to get your prize, be absolutely certain you are playing on your own account. We do not recognize excuses, such as "I and a friend jointly own the account," "It's my brother's account but he gave it to me," or similar. The only exception is an adult may authorize a single dependent child age thirteen to seventeen to play on an account that the adult has established.
Daybreak reserves the right to reschedule and/or restart tournaments, matches, extend timers and/or games as needed. Such decisions will be announced on the Magic Online website, via @MagicOnline on Twitter, and/or within the Magic Online client as needed.
Prizes
All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose). This is a game of skill and, therefore, there are no odds of winning as is the case with a game of chance. All applicable taxes, fees, duties, tariffs, passport or visa costs, and any license, destination, entry, exit and/or delivery charges are the sole responsibility of each player, and players acknowledge Daybreak’s recommendation that they consult a tax advisor in their jurisdiction for questions regarding their tax liabilities.
Residents in some countries and regions may not be able to receive cash prizes sent from United States banking institutions. If you win a prize and we are unable to make the payment do to legal or banking restrictions, or if you are a resident of a restricted country listed above, or if you are unable to receive a wire to your bank account for any other reason, your prize will be deemed forfeited.
Invitational prizes will only be awarded to players who are eligible under these rules and have not previously won an invitation to the same event (Magic Online Champions Showcase, Regional Championship, Pro Tour, World Championship event, or otherwise). Any wins by an ineligible player will be disregarded when determining the final standing of an event and the list of prize winners.
Daybreak may modify, suspend, and/or cancel an event, substitute prizes, or change the costs and/or schedule for an event without notice, at its sole discretion.
Event Integrity
If, in the sole judgment of Daybreak and its representatives, a system error, tournament or rules bug, or other issue has significantly compromised the integrity of the event, Daybreak retains the right to modify the tournament structure as needed to maintain as fair and competitive an experience as possible for all players.
Occasionally while playing Magic Online, Daybreak staff (marked by purple text in their online name in Chat) may ask players for their name and/or contact information. Failure to provide accurate information may result in significant penalties, up to and including disqualification with no refund of product and/or event tickets, suspension of the offending account(s), and/or termination of the offending account(s).
Do not give out your information to anyone who is not Daybreak Staff. Daybreak staff members will never ask for your password.

Disclaimer of Liability; Certain Risks
Daybreak, and any of its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, professional advisors, employees and agencies will not be responsible for: (a) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled, distorted, or damaged transmissions or entries; (b) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet, or other computer- or communications-related malfunctions or failures; (c) any event disruptions, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of Daybreak; or (d) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with Magic Online Premier Play.
