Several of the most iconic characters in the Marvel universe assemble when Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes (set code MSH) debuts on Magic Online next Tuesday, June 23 at 10 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC).

The downtime to add this set to the game will happen today, June 16, from 9 a.m. to approximately 12 noon Pacific time (16:00-19:00 UTC). Be sure to follow our social media outlets (Discord, BlueSky and more) to keep real-time tabs on this release and any replacement Scheduled Events.

Play Boosters

Each MSH Play Booster will sell for $3.99 USD in the Magic Online Store starting on Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT and contains 1-4 rare/mythics.

For this set, the composition is:

• 7 non-foil commons
  • 1 in 24 Play Boosters will have a common replaced by a Partner Source Material card
• 3 non-foil uncommons
• 1 non-foil rare or mythic
• 1 non-foil wildcard – that is, a non-foil of any rarity
• 1 traditional foil wildcard – a foil in every pack!
• 1 basic land – standard frame, tap dual, or full art, in either non-foil or traditional foil

The 12-card Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Premium Booster will sell for $7.99 USD in the Store starting next Tuesday. Each Premium Booster contains 12 cards with a premium treatment, five of which are guaranteed rare or mythic!

MSH Draft Bundle

The Draft Bundle is back with Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes.

Thie idea is “Buy 3, Pay Less” – plus get an avatar! The Draft Bundle will sell for $32.00 USD in the Magic Online Store starting next Tuesday. That represents a $4 savings off buying Event Tickets to cover those events.

The Draft Bundle contains three Draft Entry Tokens which can be used to enter the Magic: The Gathering™ | Marvel Super Heroes Draft League during its first three weeks, plus this set’s avatar exclusive to this product: Nick Fury!

Neither the Bundle nor its contents are tradeable.

• Events: These Tokens are only for the Draft League, not single elimination.
• Expiration: Draft Entry Tokens must be used in the first three weeks of League play – they expire Wednesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. PT. Unused Tokens will be removed at that time and are non-refundable!
  • The Bundle will leave the store on Tuesday, July 14.

Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Commander

This set has four new Commander decks for you to enjoy (set code MSC) - each featuring a whopping 30 brand-new cards among the deck’s total of 100. The decks will sell for $39.99 USD each in the Store starting next Tuesday. They are:

Booster Fun

We’ve got a wide variety of card styles coming your way with this set! Here’s a breakdown of where you can find each series of premium treatments – “Yes" indicates both non-foil and traditional foil available, (R/M) indicates rare/mythic only:

Borderless Parallax Bold Logo Cards

One particularly prominent part of this set is the Borderless Bold Logo cards – 28 heroes and villains that stand out from the rest, with each character’s logo placed prominently behind their super form.

We applied a premium treatment to create a style for the Bold Logo cards exclusive to Magic Online: the Parallax and Rainbow Foil treatments treatment highlights the shine of the background logo while keeping the character centered as you move the cursor around the card.

Alternate Play Schedule

Here’s a look at the schedule of events coming up between now and the next set release. Each description mentions if the Draft is Phantom – cards won’t be added to players’ collections in Phantom events. All transitions take place at 10:00 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC) unless otherwise noted.

• June 16-23: We'll celebrate Magic Online’s 24^th birthday by bringing back the original favorite draft format: Invasion Block Draft! (Keeper – yes, really!)
• June 23-July 1: Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes Limited is front and center for this week.
• July 1-29: Vintage Cube is back with updates from the newest set! (Phantom)
• July 29-August 5: A special mash-up of the two Marvel sets in a combined Limited experience – it's Marvel “Block” Sealed: 4 Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes boosters and 2 Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel’s Spider-Man packs!
• August 5-11: We are still considering our option for this week ...

Commander Backlog Update

We continue to chip away at our Commander Backlog slowly but surely. Here are the cards from the Backlog that will be available in the next Treasure Chest starting next Tuesday (*Extended-Art version):

We expect to make a larger dent in this backlog with the next set.

Magic Online Players Rewards (MOPR) Update

Here’s what is coming up in MOPR.

The grant on Wednesday, July 1 covers June activity. It will feature the common and uncommon Jumpstart cards that are new to Magic and all Beginner Box common/uncommons.

Then on Monday, August 3, we’ll reward July play with common and uncommon Scene cards from the boosters!

Treasure Chest Update

Treasure Chests will update when MSH goes on sale next Tuesday – be sure to watch our Twitter/X (@MagicOnline) and our Discord channel to confirm this before opening Chests.

For full details on the changes to come, check out the information page when it updates later this week. Many of your Booster Fun favorites will be available via the Treasure Chest – see the chart above.

After next Tuesday, the next Treasure Chest update will occur on Wednesday, July 22.

Avatars

We have another new set of Avatars to show you!

New accounts created between next Tuesday and August 11 will receive the Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur avatar.

Our next round of Vintage Cube starting July 1 will offer a Bundle-exclusive avatar – The Incredible Hulk.

Then it’s time to bestow some Prestige! As usual, you get five points for each Competitive trophy you earn in Leagues and one for each Friendly trophy. At the end of the season (when Magic: The Gathering® | The Hobbit™ releases), you'll earn every avatar for which you qualify.

Earning at least five points gets you the uncommon Super-Skrull avatar.

Earning at least 20 points nabs you the rare M.O.D.O.K. avatar.

Earning 40 points or more rewards you with the mythic rare Ultron, Artificial Malevolence avatar.

Odds and Ends

• Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes will not be redeemable.
• Constructed and Limited events will rotate to MSH versions of the same event on release day, so make sure you complete any Leagues before the set launches.
• Reprints in Magic: The Gathering® | Marvel Super Heroes that are entering a format won’t become legal until the new Leagues kick off next Tuesday.
• The refreshed New Account Kit with MSH commons will be available next Tuesday when the set goes on sale.
  • The Account Upgrade Kit, Collection Upgrade Kit, and Commander Workshop will not be updated with this set.
