MTGNerdGirl’s Commander Community Meetups w/All-Access
The fun starts this Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m. PT (21:00 UTC) when MTGNerdGirl will be hosting Commander game meetups on the Decked Out Discord channel. Join the Discord to find text and voice channels to arrange friendly Open Play games and wade into MTGO’s 100-card scene.
You also follow the live stream between 1 and 7 p.m. where MTGNerdGirl will be doling out Play Point codes and other giveaways – not a bad way to spend a Sunday!
Don’t have the cards yet? We’ll be offering a short All-Access window so you play with (almost) ALL the cards! Starting tomorrow, November 1 at 10 a.m. PT (17:00 UTC)– you’ll be able to purchase the Common Event Token for $10 from the MTGO Store. The Access lasts until Monday, November 4 at 10 a.m. PT (18:00 UTC).
This will be the first of 3 Community Commander days before the end of 2024 – mark your calendar for November 24 and December 15 – we’ll have All-Access available the Friday beforehand for those meetups as well.
AnziD’s Eternal Legacy Showdown Week – Nov 4-10 (All-Access Nov 6-12)
The mad scientist behind MTGO Masters, who also happens to be the Legacy format’s #1 Fan, returns with a week full of brewing and battling in his favorite format. Anuraag Das (aka AnziD) presents the Meta Legacy Showdown!
Starting next Monday, November 4th, compete in any regularly scheduled Legacy League, Preliminary, or Challenge event. Complete any one of these feats and you earned a Legacy Point – your ticket to the big Showdown:
- Complete one 5-0 Legacy League course
- Finish a Legacy Preliminary 4-0 or 3-1
- Top 8 a Legacy Challenge
On Sunday, November 10th, the Eternal Legacy Showdown will offer an enhanced prize pool compared to a Super Qualifier (minus Leaderboard Points and tabletop invitations) – the Top 128 finishers walk away with prizes, the Top 32 will receive a special AnziD Creator Avatar, and the Top 8 will also get digital sets from the Modern Horizons series (with 4 total sets to the winner)!

We’ll be offering All-Access for the week leading up to this event as well – purchase one of our shiny new Sapphire Event Tokens for $20 USD following downtime on Wednesday, November 6 and enjoy All-Access until 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, just before the release of Magic: The Gathering Foundations. That’s up to another 6 days of playing just about whatever you want, not just in Legacy!
And like all times when All-Access and Super Qs meet, purchasing and redeeming 2 Sapphire Event Tokens allows you entry to the Eternal Legacy Showdown. (No need to purchase more than two Sapphire Tokens)
Usual Premier Play rules apply regarding only entering one account you own in the Showdown. Legacy Points and Sapphire Event Tokens will be cleared from accounts in the week following the Showdown, and multiple Legacy Points are redundant.
Girls Play Resets Commander Gauntlet – Starting Nov. 12
One of our newest Creator Program contributors, Girls Play, is breathing some fresh air into our Commander Gauntlet. We’ll have five new decklists lined up that will go live with Magic: The Gathering Foundations on Tuesday, November 12. Links to those decklists will be provided once they’re live.
If you know someone who’s a new player and follows the Girls Play channel, have them watch social channels for info on how to get a free Account Upgrade Kit with a new signup (including a bonus entry into Commander Gauntlet).
Amaz Cube – Nov. 20-27
On November 20, top streamer Amaz is back! After running his Peasant Cube back in 2021, MTGO is shining the Cube Spotlight on Amaz once more.
The new Amaz Cube features multiple playstyles, as color pairs have up to 3 archetypes! If you like creative strategies and dynamic gameplay, this is the cube for you.
While we’re going to run the usual fare of a League and a single-elimination Queue, there will be extra spice – some of your favorite creators will have Bounties on them during their streams that week and defeating them will earn you a 120 Play Point bonus code!
Stay tuned to MTGO.com for Amaz’s article spelling out the Cube list and the Bounty list in mid-November.
AspiringSpike’s Modern Madness – Nov 27-Dec 1
Another one of our Creator Program’s most prolific broadcasters, AspiringSpike, will be hosting a cornucopia of Modern play over the long holiday weekend in the U.S.
We’ll have All-Access available again starting Wednesday, November 27 at 10 a.m. PT that will last until Monday, December 2 at 10 a.m. PT – up to 5 days of access for just $15 USD using the Emerald Entry Token!
Then on Sunday, December 1st, it’s the big Modern Madness tournament! This one-day event will have enhanced prizes on the line as well as special AspiringSpike avatars – more details to come in a couple of weeks.
Midweek Trophy Races – A New Format Every Week!
One new twist on finding out who’s the best in their format will kick off during Creator Season: our Midweek Trophy Race Leagues!
Each week during Creator Season, we’ll offer a League that runs for just 48 hours: entry is available Wednesday 10 a.m. to Friday 10 a.m. PT. (with one common exception). Here’s the format breakdown by week:

At the end of the Mini-League, the Top 15 accounts on the Leaderboard (plus those tied with 15th place) will receive an untradeable gold-frame version of this year’s Showcase avatars (we’ll announce Duel Commander Week's avatar later).
The Trophy Race Mini-Leagues will run concurrently with the normal version of that format’s League, except for Pauper which will have just the Mini-League the first two days of the new set. Mini-Leagues will use a different entry and prize set:

All About All-Access
In all, between now and December 2 there will be 17 days of All-Access availability! It’s been almost a year since we last offered All-Access, so let’s bring new folks up to speed on how it works:
First, there are a few different items being sold that grant you a God collection for short bursts (all times Pacific):

To use All-Access, simply purchase the proper Token in the Store, then build any legal deck in your chosen format. You will likely show negative quantities of cards in the Collection as you drag cards down – this is expected. You can try all Constructed formats with All-Access – not just the one which the Creator event is being played (e.g. Legacy or Commander or Modern). Alas, All-Access doesn’t apply to Limited events.
Once your deck is built the way you want it, enter an Open Play game or paid event (entry options still required). No cards will be added to your collection, but you'll be able to play even if you don't have all the cards in your collection.
For the Common and Emerald Tokens, you’ll only need one during each period. For Sapphire Tokens, you won’t need more than two – and that’s only if you’re skipping the line to enter the AnziD event without playing Legacy.
We'll remove all of these Tokens from accounts and turn off All-Access at the dates listed above.
Note: In a change from before, if you’re still competing in a Constructed League when access ends, you’ll be allowed to complete that match (not the entire course).
Just like previous All-Access periods, certain cards (Secret Lair versions, TRANSFORMERS, WARHAMMER 40,000, Battlebond, and old-frame Power Nine) are unavailable. Additionally, card variants sold in Bundles (Oil Lands, Retro Shocklands, etc.) are unavailable.
More Fun in Store ...
We have more creators lined up for the December half of Creator Season, but we’re going to save announcing their contributions until later. Be sure to follow this page and the Weekly Announcement Blog here on MTGO.com for updates.
We’ll see you on the battlefield!
